Kale Chips
Ingredients
-A bunch a kale, or a 120 gram bag
(baby kale is best as larger leaves tend to taste more bitter)
-1 tablespoon of olive oil
-1 teaspoon of savoury yeast
-A pinch Pink Himalayan rock salt
-1/2 a teaspoon of onion powder
-1/2 a teaspoon of garlic powder
Optional
1/4 teaspoon of chilli powder
More salt to taste.
High in calcium, magnesium , A, K and B vitamins, and fibre, this is a tasty guilt free snack that your kids may even love!
Method
Preheat the oven to 160 degrees celsius.
If using large kale leaves rip the up (aiming to be about 3cms longs).
Add kale to a large bowl, then add olive oil and mix in well.
Add all other ingredients and mix through.
Spread a thin layer of olive oil before spreading out the kale out evenly on an oven tray to make sure they all cook through evenly.
Fan bake for 16 mins, you want to take the kale out when it is dry and still slightly green, so it flakes in your hands rather than being chewy. Ovens may vary so checking your kale after 10 mins is not a bad idea.
Hope you enjoy this nutritious snack.
